How do you involve 38,000 employees in 39 countries at a new initiative that makes volunteer work during working hours?
Randstad combines their passion for people with the power of today’s technology, allowing them to support people and organizations in realizing their full potential. That’s what they call Human Forward. ‘Randstad With Heart’, brings this promise to life. Launched in October 2018, the ‘Randstad With Heart’ programm enables the company’s 38,000 employees to volunteer eight hours of their time – during working hours – for a charity of their choice. Over 300,000 manhours annually are to be given in support of communities and volunteer projects around the world.
We created the ‘Let your Heart Speak’ campaign to help enthuse and activate employees around the world. To introduce the campaign, heart shaped leaflets were handed out and gift cards were attached to heart shaped balloons.
Every employee received a balloon, symbolising eight hours of volunteer work. The ‘Let your Heart Speak’ campaign was further strengthened by social posts on Buzz, the Randstad internal communication platform. Employees posted pictures with their balloons on launch day, along with regular updates on individual and team volunteering efforts, allowing everyone to follow the global campaign’s progress.
Randstad’s CEO Jacques van den Broek was actively involved getting the campaign off to a flying start. Signalling the official kickoff in a live video, Jacques asked employees to pitch the projects they are passionate about, telling him why he should support them. Jacques will be volunteering his time at this ‘winning’ project in 2019.
