Thursday, September 15, the first YouTube Brandcast live edition of the Netherlands took place at the Maassilo Rotterdam. An event for advertisers, creators and agencies. An event to discover the value of YouTube along with new insights and perspectives about the platform. During the evening the brilliant creators of YouTube were on stage, from creators to advertisers. All to show that YouTube is mainstream.
Upon entering, guests entered a maze. Two routes with different subcultures that are currently trending on YouTube. Each subculture was supported by a key creator in that niche. These included: sports with Tour de Tietema, uninhabited world with Govert Sweep, beauty with Nikki Tutorials, fitness with Michelle Langerak and extreme with Glow Movies. Guests were also surprised on their route with a live 'hidden' music performance by BENR and Kimberly Fransens, were invited to participate in a pull up contest and were able to get made up by a real makeup artist. Of course, guests were encouraged to create their own connections and content for their socials.
After refreshments, guests took their seats for the show presented by Defano Holwijn. The show featured several speakers and artists. There was a sparkling opening by Ronnie Flex & The Fam, inspiring words by Head of YouTube Benelux Marijn Poeschmann, Marit Brugman and Soufiane Touzani took the audience through what YouTube means to them, HEF x Zeeman presented a client case and there was a beautiful performance by Emma Heesters. After the show it was time for the after party with great performances by Rondé, Broederliefde and headliner Fatboy Slim.
This project was in collaboration with We Are Era; they were responsible for the artists and the content of the show.
